Deranged
Charlie Hayes (Kenzie Taylor) is a brilliant psychiatric doctor who specializes in analyzing the most nefarious criminal minds in prison. She’s also not afraid to do whatever she needs to do to get whatever she wants, and what she wants is the Joseph Curwen (Tommy Pistol) case. It’s the chance of a lifetime; the opportunity to delve into the mind of one of the most sadistic serial killers seen in decades. Careers are built on cases like Curwen’s. But when Charlie finally gets access to the deranged murderer, true motives are revealed — and true cost of dancing with the Devil becomes clear.
Seth Gamble helms his first feature as a director for Wicked Pictures, and boy, is it a doozy! The man has a great eye for visual storytelling, he’s a talented writer, and he knows how to capture great-looking sex. The tone of this film is dark and full of morbid tension, which suits the story perfectly. Kenzie delivers what is easily the best acting performance of her career, and Tommy proves once again why he should be considered one of the top leading men in the industry.
The film starts off with Curwen being questioned by the police while in custody on his knowledge and involvement in multiple murders. He’s smug, cold, and heartless as he describes the litany of grisly murders he’s committed. Charlie watches the entire interview from home, and that little narrative detail plants the seeds for a huge swerve later in the story. The opening sex is actually a flashback of Curwen watching one of his fuck buddies. Codey Steele and Maddy May put on a sexual clinic, with Maddy aggressively throating Steele’s cock, riding him vigorously, and letting him bend her over their piano to pound her from behind.
Charlie eventually bribes her way into Curwen’s orbit by fucking the judge (to obtain a court order) and the warden (Derrick Pierce) to get access to Curwen’s cell. Kenzie has really grown as a performer over the last two years. You can see that growth on display here as she puts some real emotion behind her sex with Pierce. All the narrative beats of the story manifest themselves in the sex. Kenzie is deliberate and aggressive in her sexual approach, giving Pierce exactly what he wants because it serves her ends. It truly feels like she’s only there to feed the warden’s ego and get him off because that’s the key to what she’s looking to unlock. It makes the sex feel callous and stained with a raunchy “use me” vibe. It’s super hot.
When Charlie gets her hands on Curwen, she uses her body as only she can to get the answers she’s looking for, and Curwen (as deranged as he is) can’t resist her. He feels like a desperate teenage boy longing to get his dick wet and willing to do or say whatever is asked of him to get it. The dynamic of the scene is manipulative and disturbing, and once again, Kenzie pours that tone into the sex through her eyes and her body. She’s almost disgusted by how easy it is to turn Curwen into malleable putty with her pussy, and she does just that. A giant plot twist (which I won’t spoil here) serves as the climax of the scene, and all I’ll say about it is: holy Harley Quinn vibes, Batman!
The final scene serves as either an epilogue or a pseudo post-credits style scene. The story deviates from Dr. Hayes and moves to the plight of Lily Larimar. The narrative switch was a bit jarring, but the sex is chef’s kiss. Jane Wilde and Lily work Mick Blue over relentlessly (with Larimar getting the lion’s share of the dicking) and on more than one occasion, he looked like he might expire from the sheer lust spreading through his loins.
This movie is going to be a hit not only with audiences, but with critics and awards panels as well.
