Camp Chaos
Matthew Camp and director Cory Krueckeberg blend an experimental aesthetic, documentary filmmaking and psychedelic visuals with an evocative score to recreate three of Camp’s formative sexual experiences in this visually dazzling, tender and erotic film. Camp’s robust fan base ought to thoroughly sate themselves.
Camp is an entrepreneur and notable social media personality — he is the 2020 XBIZ Cam Awards winner for Best Male Premium Social Media Star — and devised this very personal, handcrafted project that runs about 150 minutes and features solo wanks as well as footage of the polymath strumming the guitar, deftly creating garments with an electric sewing machine and dreaming up a wall-sized painting in a crowded, shadowed loft.
The first scene is a sensual, intimate coupling that features the bearded, furry and easygoing Levi Wolfe. This is not a bout of wham-bam sexplay; the two men take their time, sharing personal memories and chit-chatting, then exploring each other, savoring body contact and personal touch as their sex builds to a passionate climax amid constantly shifting projections that play across their bodies, the white bedsheets and the walls and floor around them. Wolfe’s release is particularly intense and splattery.
Camp recalls a formative experience as a freshman in college with the second scenario. He relives the memory with the Enzo, an adorably handsome, smooth young hunk. As before, he and Camp enjoy time building a connection as the camerawork focuses on sensual body contact and intimacy. When they move to the bed, Camp, as the topman, is very focused on his partner’s pleasure as colorful visuals swirl around them for an erotic, trippy experience.
For the third and final experience, Camp recalls a period of vulnerability and the compulsion to shelter with a lover. Dreamily handsome Liam Lee is Camp’s choice to recreate the experience. He and Camp are similarly built and the men share a palpable chemistry and a charming awkwardness at the start, as they shower and groom and exchange small talk. They explore each other’s physiques as a prelude to a deeply intense, erotic lovemaking session that slowly builds to a passionate release. Again, the enjoyably trippy visuals, editing and dreamlike soundtrack underscore the sexual tension.
