Student Affairs
Maddy (O’Reilly) is a promising grad student at a prominent university who has a complicated relationship with her professors. On the one hand, she’s intellectually enraptured by professor Stirling (Cooper), the brilliant and charming researcher who heads her department committee and has enough influence to get her work funded and published. On the other hand, she is emotionally intrigued by Ryan (Brad Armstrong), a political science professor who has a passion for the art and the practical application of literary and social criticism. Torn between two paths of professional study and two potential lovers with vastly different things to offer her, Maddy must make a choice that will change her future forever.
The collaborative efforts of Shawn Alff and Mike Quasar as co-writers continues to pay massive dividends for Wicked Pictures with this being the third time the duo has worked together and each effort surpasses the last in terms of quality. “Student Affairs” is a wonderfully well-written tale that feels natural, showcases compelling characters and has an interesting storyline. Anyone who is or has ever attended and/or worked at a university is going to be drawn to the realistic nature of this movie immediately. Fantastic dialogue and a nice variety of settings makes the story come to life and the cast does a great job making the characters accessible.
Brad Armstrong deserves some special attention for the ease with which he delivers his opening lines, as if he were speaking from real-life experience. Maddy O’Reilly also deserves special mention for creating a believable sense of internal conflict within her character, which gives the entire movie its soul. I also feel Stirling Cooper deserves to be recognized for bringing the perfect amount of slime to his performance, making him a very nice foil for the heroes. Couple all these performances with strong efforts from Kenna James, Victoria Voxxx and Tommy Pistol, and you’ve got a highly re-watchable story that features some very exciting sex. A banner way for Wicked Pictures to start 2020!
I have to give massive kudos to Mike Quasar and Shawn Alff for the way the opening sex scene is framed. If viewers don’t pay attention to Maddy’s opening voice-over dialogue or the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it embrace during the credits, they’ll miss the significance of the encounter between Monica (Kush) and professor Stirling. What a brilliant visual, narrative, double entendre! I don't want to spoil that moment for the audience, but you really need to pay attention to fully understand the scene and its significance. There’s also a cool foreshadow moment in the opening credits sequence (note the quick shot of Maddy’s panties being stripped away) that tells the viewer where her ultimate choice will lead her, and it’s a fun “aha” moment if you catch it.
Karla Kush is a pretty intense performer. Not intense in the sense that she does a lot of rough stuff, at least not for Wicked Pictures, but rather intense in that she tends to hold her physical expressions of pleasure at bay until they culminate in a bursting sort of release; like the popping of a small balloon. It gives her scenes a pacing that is full of small crescendos that can take the viewer’s breath away as they anticipate her tipping points. It’s a very erotic style. Stirling Cooper has a smoldering intensity of his own that is full of seemingly barely checked aggression. He seems always to be on the cusp of ravaging Karla, but holds himself just short of the cliff. The end result is a surprisingly intense, passionate encounter that fits the professor/student, older man/younger woman “will we get caught” excitement perfectly. Great opening scene.
Kenna James and Tommy Pistol are another student/professor couple engaging in a relationship that could be considered unethical and Tommy’s advice for Ryan in regards to Maddy’s situation mirrors his willingness to be involved with a student himself. Can I just take a moment to marvel at how awesome Kenna James is? She has grown exponentially as a performer since I first saw her and it has as much to do with her ability to command a character as it does her ability to deliver scintillating sex. She’s so pretty, she knows how to speak with her eyes and she understands how to strike the libido of the audience with the movements of her body. Pay attention to the way she slinks up Tommy’s body when she mounts him (still wearing all her lingerie). It’s more than just moving slowly, rubbing his body and shaking her ass, it’s about the attitude coming from her physical form. There’s a magnetism there that is hard to capture. Kenna does so effortlessly at this point in her career and it makes watching her have sex infinitely more arousing. Tommy is great as he always is, due mainly to his ever-present awareness of his partner. He always puts their pleasure at the forefront and his partners always respond gratefully. A perfect example is the way Tommy gently rakes his fingers down Kenna’s back as he fucks her from behind. Remembering that her body can process pleasure from more than just his passionate thrusting is the mark of a seasoned male performer. What a great scene!
After receiving a clandestine tip from a slightly ambiguous source (another nice narrative wrinkle in the story from Alff and Quasar), former student Victoria (Voxxx) meets with Maddy to tell her story. It plays out as a flashback to a fateful encounter between Victoria and professor Stirling that ends in a fiery fuck on a pristine, white couch. Victoria matches Stirling’s intensity with a blazing lust of her own and the results are explosive. The animalistic, guttural way she growls at him during their scene is something typically seen from the male performer, but Voxxx owns the tonal flip and even though she’s not the physical aggressor, she is absolutely in control of the sex from start to finish. Watching her captain Stirling’s desperate pounding is a thing of beauty. This woman is fun to watch.
The movie’s passion culminates with Ryan and Maddy finding their way to each other in a sexual union that will make those who adore the fairy tale ending smile with delight. First thing, Maddy has a wonderful body. Her curves are delicious and the way she succumbs to sex is one of the most arousing things I’ve seen in a long while. The way she whispers and moans, the way her head rolls slowly back and forth and the way she caresses her body all over is the visual embodiment of the pleasure washing through her body as Armstrong tantalizes her. The cowgirl is particularly awesome (really could have watched that position all day from these two) and the finish is just as romantic and intimate as you want it to be.
Mike Quasar started 2019 off with a great movie and he continues that trend in 2020. This is a very satisfying movie that addresses the teacher/student trope in a refreshing way. Once again, credit should be given to Shawn Alff and Mike Quasar for creating such a good story.
Maddy O'Reilly is an ambitious grad student with her eye on a prestigious position at the university. Despite warnings from her mentor and collaborator Ryan (Brad Armstrong) and her fellow students, she becomes intertwined with a charming professor (Stirling Cooper) who may have ulterior and dangerous motives. With a cast rounded out by Kenna James, Victoria Voxxx and Karla Kush, higher education has never been never been hotter.
