Kick Your Camming Career Into Overdrive

Kick Your Camming Career Into Overdrive

The thought of being a successful cam model with throngs of adoring fans can be enough to put stars in anyone’s eyes. But what do you do if your camming career isn’t taking off as quickly as you hoped? In the words of modern-day philosopher Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “It’s about drive, it’s about power.”

Of course, you’re already putting in the work and the hours, so here are a few tried and true tips to get you across the finish line to cam superstardom.

If you’re into cosplay or BDSM, for example, make sure that comes through in your thumbnail, so you stand out as potential fans peruse model listings.

MAKE YOUR THUMBNAIL IMAGE POP

Your thumbnail photo is the first thing viewers see when they scroll through the homepage, so make sure it’s eye-catching! Use a high-quality photo that showcases your best assets and shows off anything that makes you unique. If you’re into cosplay or BDSM, for example, make sure that comes through in your thumbnail, so you stand out as potential fans peruse model listings. Try to make eye contact in the photos, as that is a proven way to connect with people and draw them in.

Also, be sure you are the focal point of the image. Taking a photo of yourself with your webcam from far away is far less effective because there’s too much going on in the background, taking the attention away from you. Even if your room decor looks amazing, fans are there to see you, so that’s what you need to sell.

BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PLATFORM

Reach out to your platform’s social media team and let them know that you would like to appear on their social media pages as well as any other promotional materials they may need you for. Most platforms have hundreds if not thousands of models at any given time, so making the first move can help you stand out as you build your career. It’s also a great way to get your hands on cool swag you can use for your promotional photos.

USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO YOUR ADVANTAGE

I know I’ve said this a hundred different ways by now, but it’s that important. Social media is the best tool you have at your disposal, and it doesn’t cost you anything to use it. Many models build up a following on Twitter, then tweet out their links anytime they’re online to drive traffic to their rooms. Others use TikTok and Instagram to post sexy content and drive traffic through a link-hosting page strategically placed in their bio.

If you need to build up a following, there are ways to get a boost. Since you’re already in contact with your site’s social media team, as mentioned above, make sure they have your accounts on their radar to follow and retweet you. Large camming sites have large social media followings, which can help you expand your reach and bring in new fans.

BUILD A SOLID RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR FANS

Once fans leave your room, you want to keep them coming back for more. Yes, you want to keep attracting new fans, but loyal fans can really hype you up, especially during free chat when you need to keep the tipping energy up. So send your fans messages regularly using your platform’s messaging feature, and interact with them regularly on social media, so you stay fresh in their minds even when you’re not online. Many models will also build loyalty by giving their fans a cute nickname, a la Lady Gaga’s “Monsters” or Mariah Carey’s “Lambs.” Believe it or not, many fans love it because it makes them feel like they are a part of your squad!

BUILD A BIO VISITORS CAN’T RESIST

When new guests visit your page, most will read your bio to see what you’re all about. That’s why it’s essential to fill out your bio completely, so visitors know without a doubt that you are the model of their dreams. Fill out your turn-ons, turn-offs, specialties and some fun facts about yourself so guests feel like they can relate to you. If they feel connected, it gives them more reasons to stay and actually spend some money. This is also an excellent time to mention things you don’t like to do on cam, any boundaries you need to set — and most importantly, your camming schedule, so fans always know when to catch you online.

ELEVATE YOUR BIO WITH FREE NON-NUDE CONTENT

These days, many models sell content and shoot it specifically for that purpose. While that’s a great way to earn extra money, don’t forget that having free content on your model bio page is equally important, even if it’s just a few small albums of lingerie pics amidst all the paid content. When guests stop by your page, you want to draw them in and make them wonder what they’re missing out on by not taking you private. A few free albums of teaser photos can do just that!

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MODEL CONTESTS

Many of the larger camming platforms host monthly and weekly model contests that are a great way to make extra money and gain extra visibility. Many sites use contest winners in promotional posts for social media, press releases, marketing materials and more, which can get your name and face in front of a larger audience. Here’s wishing you lots of luck and prosperity in the new year!

Understanding 'Indemnification' in Business Contracts
