Pink Visual Launches Beta Mobile Pay Site

VAN NUYS, Calif. — Pink Visual is going mobile. The adult VOD and DVD provider has launched the beta test of iPinkVisualPass.com. The new site offers Pink Visual's content in streaming and downloadable format to its members' iPhones and other compatible devices.

Pink Visual's PR Coordinator Kate Sylvan said that “we had such an overwhelming response to iPinkVisual that combined with the increase in traffic and the launch of the 3G iPhone, we saw this as the perfect opportunity to develop a more comprehensive membership site with full length scenes that users can watch on their phone or on their computers at home.”

Pink Visual is the latest adult provider to try to reach the small screen. The potentially lucrative mobile market is an elusive goal for adult businesses. Obstacles preventing wider cellular distribution include the slow adoption of next-generation or G3 networks as well as U.S. consumer resistance to multimedia applications on cellular phones. Cultural attitudes towards cellular usage have also limited the growth of adult content on mobile devices.

Pink Visual hopes that the recent success of Apple's 3G iPhone will bring a ready audience to its content. According to Sylvan, Pink Visual is converting existing content for the mobile platform, which users can stream or download as an "episode." Currently, 120 episodes are available and the website will be updated with 10 episodes weekly. The beta test of iPinkVisualPass.com's is scheduled to last through Oct. 15.
