Sunny Leone in SMS Company's First Adult Deal

LOS ANGELES — Mainstream Internet company American IDC Corp. has signed its first adult entertainer to a deal that provides fans with mobile messages.

Sunny Leone is slated to launch her SmartSMS Mobile Fan Club shortly, American IDC CEO Gordon Lee told XBiz.

With the SMS service, “fans get notified of myriad opportunities to win a date with the celebrity, or perhaps backstage passes to an event,” Lee said. “For adult stars, we might offer fans a chance to go on their movie set.”

Leone, who told XBiz she is excited about the new venture, worked with mainstream agent Manny Bains to get the SMS deal.

“I hope the world is ready for a large dose of Sunny Leone,” said the former Penthouse Pet of the Year and Vivid contract star, who noted that she also is working on having her own casino site soon.

Los Angeles-based American IDC, a public company that specializes in mobile marketing campaigns for celebrities as well as major brands, charges fans 99 cents per message. American IDC owns and operates the proprietary Smart Text Messaging technology.

Celebrities receive a 25 percent cut of the revenue and typically promote the service to fans through their own websites.

Lee said that the deal with Leone could be the first of many for adult performers. “We usually focus on rock stars, but I don’t really see Sunny as as adult star — she’s a celebrity first,” he said. “I see a huge potential and all sorts of possibilities for these kinds of people.”

Over the past four years, American IDC has developed and managed hundreds of text-message campaigns through its Smart Text Messaging technology for top mainstream brands, such as Visa, MasterCard and Coca-Cola, along with Hollywood movies "X-Men," "Kill Bill” and "The Matrix."

“[Text-message marketing] has gone over the top in the past six months,” Lee said. “It is gotten to the point where we are writing deals on napkins.”

To join the Sunny Leone Mobile Fan Club, cell users key in the code Sunny, send to 76278 and wait for a “welcome” response.
