AWE Hires Douglas Richter as Business Development Manager for CameraBoys.com

LOS ANGELES — Live cam affiliate program Adult Webmaster Empire (AWE) has hired Douglas Richter to become business development manager for CameraBoys.com, a live cam product geared toward the gay community that features amateur male models.

Richter, who will be working out of Los Angeles in cooperation with the AWE team in Europe, will oversee the continuing development of CameraBoys.com and AWE’s gay market-oriented white label live cam product. CameraBoys launched in 2006 with the intent to better monetize the large database of male live cam models already available through AWE.

Previously with Cybersocket Web Magazine, Richter said that his decision to leave a strong gay brand for a new challenge was scary, but also seemed like a natural evolution from where he began his journey in the entertainment industry 10 years ago.

“I will miss the friends and security I had at Cybersocket, but I know I will always have their love and support," he said. "They are really great folks whom I have learned a great deal from during my six years working for Tim and Morgan.

"Looking forward, I am excited about this new challenge. CameraBoys.com will actually bring me back to my roots, so I am thrilled to be getting back into the challenge of business development and getting to know this amazing new team. AWE has established a very strong brand in the live cam affiliate program sector, and I strongly believe in this product, and the opportunity to begin working with Katie and the entire AWE team is truly a new beginning for me.”

Katie Smith, a former senior director for Playboy Online, was hired a week ago to oversee business development and U.S. strategy for AWE, a technology-focused company that launched in 2002 and has since grown to employ more than 100 people.

Mickey Bojcsik, program director for AWE, said that bringing Richter on board signaled AWE's continuing commitment to the gay community, and also its intention to develop the existing CameraBoys brand into the world’s premiere gay live sex cam site.

"We're excited to have Douglas as our second recent team member addition," he said. "CameraBoys has proven its potential over time with excellent conversion ratios in addition to quantity and quality of content. With Douglas' thorough knowledge of the gay market, we're ready to take the product to the next level."

Current and future AWE affiliates or potential white label partners with feedback, tool suggestions and business ideas can contact Douglas Richter at (888) AWE-3221 or by email at douglas@cameraboys.com
