Speed Networking Kicks XBIZ Hollywood ’08 Into High Gear

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – The highly-anticipated speed networking session at the XBIZ Hollywood ’08 Conference played to a packed house of attendees looking to make new connections in an intensive environment focused on meeting new business contacts.

The rapid-fire, one-hour event took place in the historic Hollywood Roosevelt hotel’s Blossom Room. Thirty stations were set up and 60 participants were divided into “red” and “blue” camps. The participants with blue cards stayed seated, while the ones with red cards moved from station to station in two-minute intervals.

The waiting list to attend this special session was extensive, virtually guaranteeing its return at future XBIZ shows.

XBIZ Publisher Tom Hymes conceived the speed networking session reasoning that at most shows people who have made previous connections don’t tend to meet new people. Speed networking was all about bringing people out of their social circles and comfort zones in an attempt to meet new people and talk business.

The event was hosted and sponsored by adult industry social networking portal AdultWhosWho.com.

Many of the adult entertainment industry’s biggest players were represented at speed networking. Mr. Skin, SearchExtreme, HotMovies, Pridebucks, Stockroom, DatingGold, WorldWideContent, ASACP and Teravision were part of the select group.

“This was a great idea that was executed well,” Teravision CEO Evan Seinfeld told XBIZ. “I met some new people that I will follow up with after the show.”

DatingGold’s AK echoed Seinfeld’s sentiments.

“I didn’t realize how much business could be done in two-minute intervals,” he told XBIZ. “I hope at the next show it will be even bigger because it was a unique idea.
