Ted LeVine, System JO marketing and business development manager, told XBIZ that a group of gynecologists encouraged the company last year to create a lubricant made for women, adjusting its existing lubes' ingredients for pH-balanced formulas that closely match that of a woman's body.
"This modification, though relatively straightforward is a remarkable oversight of many competitor brands," LeVine said. "The attention to the balance of ingredients for a woman’s body is essential for a positive sensual experience and sustaining sexual health and well being."
And because System JO's parent company, United Consortium, is involved in private-label nutraceutical manufacturing, it was able to create the new line under the guidance of professional physicians.
The line includes both silicone- and water-based warming and classic lubes made without any glycerin, oils, waxes and other additives known to disrupt the natural environment of the vagina and cause ailments such as yeast infections.
The line also includes a set of lubricant Shooters, small single-use tubes of lube made with a long narrow neck for easy application directly into the vaginal canal. LeVine said its conveniently small size makes them easy to carry in a handbag.
