GameLink Hires Kevin Blatt

SAN FRANCISCO — Leading e-tailer GameLink.com has hired 10-year adult industry veteran Kevin Blatt as the company’s new director of public relations.

Blatt comes to GameLink.com from Pure Vanilla, where he served as the vice president of sales. He resigned from his position in early September after the anonymous payment service provider refused to accept new clients or process rebills.

Blatt will be based in Chatsworth, Calif., and plans on monthly commutes to the GameLink office in San Francisco.

“I called Ilan [Buni, GameLink CEO] just to pick his brain, and that turned into a job offer. I’m impressed with his organization. Coming from a cushy job at Pure Vanilla, I was seeking to join a company that was structured well but wasn’t a corporate nightmare with a lot of red tape. Ilan has a great team and I’m happy to be there.”

Blatt’s primary responsibilities include facilitating new marketing ideas, building out the GameLink.com brand, increasing the company’s visibility in the public sector, serving as a liaison between the company and adult studios, and promoting GameLink’s video-on-demand and customized Internet retail store to affiliates.

“Kevin just understands this industry,” Buni told XBIZ. “We needed somebody with his experience. He’s smart, well connected and hardworking. He knows how to build important relationships. We’re excited about our future with him on board.”

Blatt sees his new gig as a great opportunity to remain on the cutting edge of a changing industry.

“Paysites are not what they used to be; piracy is rampant,” Blatt said. “VOD is the future and is a totally different market than custom-shot content. I’m going to cater to a lot of the studios that don’t do VOD. I plan on bringing a lot of fresh marketing ideas to the company. GameLink has a great brand, now we just have to build that out.”

Blatt can be reached at kb@gamelink.com.
