The software will manage its entire collection of digital photos and video for its magazine, television and web publishing business units.
Playboy’s decision to pick North Plains’ web-based content management system is expected to catapult the adult company’s efforts in the mobile and video-on-demand categories.
“Telescope's powerful broadcast video architecture and integrated business rules engine will eventually enable and coordinate cross-channel publishing, licensing and re-use of content assets across all of Playboy's global business units and business partners," North Plains CEO Hassan Kotob said.
Kotob says that Toronto-based North Plains has nearly 400 companies that have signed up to the company’s flagship software, including media companies America Online, Sony Pictures, Viacom and Warner Bros.
