LUCERNE, Switzerland — Vendo Services will host its next Merchant Conference on Thursday, before participating in XBIZ Amsterdam next week.
The conferences, held quarterly in a 90-minute format, bring online vendors up to date on the latest regulations and market trends in payment processing, while also offering a forum for networking and interaction.
Director of Payments and Risk Fernando Latorre will kick off the event with an overview of open banking and its potential to reshape the realm of electronic money transfers, using PIX as a case study. Created and managed by Brazil’s Central Bank, PIX is an instant payment ecosystem linked to over 700 Brazilian financial institutions.
Lust Films & Publications CEO Pablo Dobner will share his company’s strategy for building an authentic brand, engaging audiences and standing out in a crowded marketplace. The XBIZ Award-winning company was established in 2004 by Dobner and his wife, director, writer, producer and studio head Erika Lust.
Vendo Director of Data Science Xisca Pericàs will talk about how data bites can help vendors forecast revenues, optimize resources and craft better sales strategies by taking seasonality into account.
The conference will wrap up with a session led by Latorre on the Visa Integrity Risk Program (VIRP), Mastercard AI regulation and other regulatory shifts.
CEO and President Mitch Platt said, “Our Merchant Conferences aim to help ecommerce merchants and streaming content providers achieve better business outcomes, and at the same time find community with other vendors. It’s great to see familiar faces quarter after quarter.”
Next week, Vendo will also participate in XBIZ Amsterdam at the Park Centraal Hotel in Amsterdam.
As a corporate sponsor of the conference, Vendo will host speed-networking events Monday and Tuesday. Structured in short, one-on-one interactions, speed networking allows attendees to forge new connections and collaborations in a laid-back setting.
Platt called the sponsorship a prime example of Vendo's efforts to “build community and help vendors reach their highest potential," adding that "it offers a platform for people to get to know each other, find synergies, and advance their business objectives.”
Vendo execs will also play an active role in various panels and workshops at the conference. Platt will moderate a panel on indie paysites. Vendo COO Thierry Arrondo will explore the latest trends in payment processing in the “Money Talks: Payment Processing in 2023” panel, including issues affecting the global payments landscape, billing and payment regulations, proactive compliance measures and how the landscape is evolving.
According to Arrondo, XBIZ Amsterdam offers a “tremendous opportunity for all segments of the industry to meet and learn about the rapidly changing nature of payments.”
“We’re looking forward to sharing updates on PIX, Brazil’s fastest-growing payment method, new trends in crypto payment processing, strategies to increase sales penetration in Asia, and how AI innovations are minimizing fraud while boosting sales conversions,” he noted.
Throughout the week, both Platt and Arrondo are available for one-on-one meetings with online merchants to explore their payment processing needs and concerns.
