MojoHost Launches Cold Storage Solution MojoIce

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — MojoHost has launched its new object storage solution, MojoIce, designed for active backups, internal content management and other cold storage needs.

MojoIce “offers a more cost-effective and reliable alternative to popular solutions like Wasabi, AWS Glacier and Backblaze,” a rep said.

MojoHost President Brad Mitchell noted that “while Wasabi and Backblaze imply heat in their names, they are in fact cold storage solutions based on IOPS and throughput limitations with a high cost of egress bandwidth when it exceeds the amount stored and unfavorable data retention policies. MojoHost's core values are integrity and value. MojoIce offers a better alternative with lower pricing, higher performance, no hidden fees and no contractual requirements."

MojoIce's pricing per GB is $0.0055, with free transfer up to the current capacity in use.

“This makes storage nearly 10% off Wasabi’s retail, data transfer 90% off and a 100% savings with no data retention pricing,” the rep added. “Backblaze charges $0.01 per GB transferred, more than twice the price and with no included bandwidth like MojoIce. AWS’ Infrequent and Glacier storage tiers pale in value comparison, making their details not even worth mentioning.”

MojoHost biz dev exec Natalie Pannon expanded on the comparison by pointing out that MojoIce “offers more honest and transparent terms compared to Wasabi. For one, MojoIce does not maintain a three-month retention policy. With Wasabi, you pay for any file uploaded for three months, even if it is deleted the next day. The #GoodMojo pledge is a 100% satisfaction guarantee.”

MojoIce joins MojoHost's suite of cloud storage services, including MojoFire and MojoVault object storage.
