ATLANTA — The documentary "Being Black in Porn" will premiere as part of Atlanta's Black Pride Weekend festivities, this Saturday at 5 p.m. EDT.
Following the premiere, there will be a Q&A session with director Dwight Allen O'Neal, producer/narrator DeAngelo Jackson and cast member Rock Rockafella.
The documentary "follows the lives of four gay men of color as they navigate their way in the competitive and often complicated adult film industry," said a rep.
"I’m so excited to finally celebrate our film with a premiere, and what better time than during Atlanta Black Pride?" said O'Neal. "Being able to see and experience with others watching our documentary is a big moment. We hope it leaves the audience with a better understanding of gay, BIPOC sex workers and reaffirms that Black lives matter everywhere and within every industry."
Jackson, a Noir Male exclusive contract performer, also enthused about the upcoming premiere.
"To finally celebrate our film’s screening in person is a big moment for me," he said. "It’s been such a tumultuous time the last couple years for everyone. I’m so excited to have reason to celebrate our film and LGBTQ+ Pride with others! What a dream to know it’s reaching my hometown audience of Atlanta."
"Being Black in Porn" won Best Documentary awards at the Lightbox Independent Film Festival, Reelout Film Fest and Airflix Film Festival.
