LOS ANGELES — Will Ryder has been tapped to write and direct a new feature for Adam & Eve Pictures described as a sexy sci-fi thriller, starring Kira Noir, newcomer Dakota Tyler and Nathan Bronson.
The feature, titled "Oh My God, No!", is now casting, and follows the recent release of Ryder's "Love, Sex & Fashion" for the studio.
“Comedy is what Will does best,” said Rachel V, head of production for Adam & Eve Pictures. "However, he’s not limited to one specific genre because we also enjoyed a lot of success with the movie 'The Cursed XXX,' which was Scott David and Will's first attempt in the thriller genre, so when they talked to us about this new movie synopsis, we absolutely loved it."
Ryder noted "Oh My God, No!" will tell "a harrowing story of young newlyweds that find themselves in unimaginable trouble" with Bronson taking on the role of "a desperate man caught in an impossible situation he cannot escape."
"That’s all we will say for now about the story because this script is going to scare a lot of people,” he added. “I will however, be happy to talk about my female leads because they are the fuel that will ignite this story.”
Kira Noir has never worked with Ryder, but co-producer David noted the helmer was "adamant we get her in this feature. We're pretty excited to have her join the cast of this thriller."
Ryder described Noir as "a fabulous talent and a very believable actor."
"I’ve wanted to work with her for a few years now and I know she’ll be up for the acting challenge this story presents," he said. "This is the type of role that actors relish and when Kira reads the script, she’s gonna love it and be consumed by it."
He also praised newcomer Dakota Tyler's burgeoning star power.
"This is a casting gamble because Dakota is so new," he said. "When I read her for the part, I was looking for realism and the ability to take direction and improve with each take. What I discovered is a natural actress, young and very pretty, so I have no doubt she will really kill this part. In fact, the more I think about it, this role was made for her because she’s perfect to play 'Mandy.'"
“Dakota brings a sweet vulnerability to the role, yet has an internal toughness that will be an asset in a huge movie shoot like this,” Ryder concluded.
The starlet enthused about her big break.
“I can’t believe that I got the opportunity to read for the part of 'Mandy,' let alone get it,” she said. “I don’t know the entire movie story yet, only the couple of pages I tested on, but I got chills just reading those lines.”
