LOS ANGELES — The new Netflix docuseries “The Principles of Pleasure” features an array of sex educators and experts exploring and discussing women’s contemporary attitudes towards sex and desire.
Featured sexperts include Dirty Lola, Lust Cinema's Erika Lust, Ericka Hart, Emily Nagoski, Danielle Bezalel, Dr. Lori Brotto, Allison P. Davis, Dr. Nicole Prause and Gina Nicole Brown.
Narrated by comedian and actor Michelle Buteau, the series “digs deep into the social mores and dirty minds that define modern women’s sexual attitudes, desires, identities and behavior from a myriad of voices that simply speak their personal truths about erotic pleasure,” a rep said.
Each of the three episodes covers a unique topic. The first episode, “Our Bodies,” centers on the realities and misconceptions surrounding the female orgasm. The second, “Our Minds,” explores the connection between eroticism and the brain as well as the highs and lows of hormones and the powerful mind-body connection. The third episode, “Our Relationships,” unveils the sexual possibilities of partnerships with topics that range from turn-ons to consent.
"Everybody — and every body — deserves pleasure; many people are excluded and feel unseen when it comes to having pleasure, and this series was made for those of us who have historically been left out of these experiences,” said Lola. “We are not only talking about culturally diverse cis women, but trans women, gender-diverse and nonbinary folks, too. Pleasure is for all of us.”
