LOS ANGELES — Playboy has increased its commitment to Pineapple Support as a Partner-level sponsor. The company is one of more than 60 adult businesses pledging funds and resources to the organization.
"Sponsoring Pineapple Support is important to Playboy," Director of Marketing and Subscriptions Holly Ruprecht said. "We believe in sex worker rights and understand the challenges they face, especially with social media bullying on the rise. Pineapple Support fosters a vital safe space for sex workers, so we are proud to be a sponsor."
Pineapple Support, founded in 2018 by Leya Tanit, has connected over 5,000 adult performers and industry members to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support.
“We’re so thankful to Playboy for answering the call and realizing that, after a difficult few years, we all need to increase the mental health support available to those who work in our industry,” Tanit said. “As one of the most recognized brands in the adult industry, Playboy’s decision sends an important message to the larger community. We applaud them for their ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of adult performers, and for always investing in the future of this industry.”
