LOS ANGELES — Sexual wellness retailer Lovers has debuted the second edition of its "Lovers Artist Series," titled "Valentine's Day Edition."
Five diverse visual artists commissioned to create a greeting card that features their interpretation of "connection."
A rep noted the five "sexy, witty, colorful and cheeky" Valentine's Day cards from Sofie Birkin, Sawako Kabuki, Kelly Nichols, Stevie Shao and Alessandra Sian are "limited-edition works of art."
"Lovers is committed to creating safe and inclusive spaces for all people," the rep said, "so 100% of proceeds from the sales of these cards will be donated equally among six nonprofit organizations that support survivors of domestic violence: RAINN, Raphael House, Peace Over Violence, The Family Place, Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Family Safety Center."
"Lovers Artist Series’ cards offer a unique and provocative way to connect with the people your readers care about most — whether they’re a partner, crush, lover, friend or anyone they admire," the rep added.
The cards retail for $3.50 apiece and are now available online and in Lovers’ 41 brick-and-mortar stores.
They are also included in five exclusive sex toy gift bundles that align with each card’s "vibe": The Bound to Love You Bundle (inspired by Nichols' card); Strap On Love Bundle (from Birkin); Appreciation Bundle (Kabuki); The Favorite Thing to Do Bundle (Sian); and We Vibe Together Bundle (Shao).
“In a time where connection is needed more than ever, we found ourselves reflecting on all the ways one can be a 'Lover' — a best friend, a romantic partner or a support system — and how meaningful those relationships are," Senior Marketing Director Jen May said. "We’re excited to launch this Valentine’s Day edition of our 'Artist Series,' which offers a fresh and provocative spin on the ways we connect. We look forward to amplifying the work of inspiring, emerging artists and advocating for survivors of domestic violence through this collaboration.”
