Singapore's Top OnlyFans Creator Charged With 'Obscenity'

SINGAPORE — Titus Low, one of Singapore’s top-rated OnlyFans creators, was arrested last week and charged with “transmitting obscene material via electronic means.”

Low was arrested on Dec. 30 by Singapore police for transmitting “obscene materials” depicting his “private parts” via his popular OnlyFans account, Vice’s Heather Chen reported Tuesday.

Low’s arrest was prompted by an anonymous informant alerting the authorities in September of last year that he had been violating the country’s strict laws targeting “obscenity.”

Low posted today an English-language YouTube video explaining his OnlyFans “job” and eloquently detailing his ordeal and how authorities targeted him under old obscenity laws that are not enforced in many jurisdictions.

In the U.S., conservative and religious activists and politicians like Senator Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican, have been crusading in a growing movement to reinstitute obscenity prosecutions. Such a move would most likely result in expensive legal jeopardy and liability for independent creators of sexual content.

According to the Vice report, the 22-year-old Low “was charged in court on Dec. 30 with two counts of transmitting obscene material via electronic means for uploading 32 photographs and 29 videos to his OnlyFans account between April and October 2021. He was also charged for breaking an order from authorities in October to stay off his OnlyFans account.”

“According to charge sheets,” the Vice report continues, “Low allegedly wrote to OnlyFans administrators to have his password reset so he could access the account, uploading three more photographs and five videos to the account in October. Investigations against Low are still ongoing, with his trial set to be held on Jan. 20. If convicted of the charges, Low faces imprisonment of up to three months, a fine, or both.”
