LOS ANGELES — Jessica Drake, sex educator, Wicked Pictures contract star and brand strategist for Wicked Sensual Lube, was a featured speaker at Tending the Garden's virtual "Summit for Healing" this week.
Described by a rep as "a healing retreat for survivors of assault founded by sex educator and trauma expert Jimanekia Eborn," the two-day summit was designed to "bring healing and accessible space to survivors of sexual assault, particularly those of marginalized identities."
The event, noted the rep, provided participants with access to licensed therapists, counselors, sex educators and "fellow survivors" through a series of panels and discussions. "Jessica spoke alongside licensed clinical social worker Angie Gunn and veteran sex worker, community organizer and Black feminist pornographer Sinnamon Love on the panel 'Being a Sex Worker and a Survivor.'"
Drake observed how the summit "created a safe space for very necessary and yet often overlooked conversations about the intersection of survivors and people with marginalized identities."
"Not only was I honored to speak as a panelist on 'Being a Sex Worker and a Survivor' along with Sinnamon and Angie, I also attended the entire summit and learned so much from each of the panelists," she added. "As a survivor, finding new ways to heal and feeling a sense of community are so important, and I highly recommend everything Jimanekia and Tending The Garden have to offer."
