MONTREAL — BranditScan has announced an official expansion of its takedown service to include “catfish” social media accounts.
Their Premium Plan which already included brand and content protection has, according to a rep, “grown to include the swift and easy removal of impersonation accounts on social platforms.”
"Catfish" or imposter accounts have been a costly issue for many content creators as fans repeatedly fall victim to scams. They have also proven difficult to have removed, as many creators rely on community reporting to get these accounts taken down.
“With BranditScan, takedowns of these accounts has never been easier,” the rep explained. “Content creators simply need to submit the accounts and an automated backend does all the work. It’s been met with lots of excitement from the community.
“I had two links that I had been reporting myself for weeks, and after submitting it to BranditScan the accounts were removed after 48 hours,” said content creator Destiny Diaz.
This new feature is an addition to the Premium Plan’s bulk DMCA and brand protection services priced at $45 a month.
