LOS ANGELES — Genevieve LeJeune, founder and CEO of Skirt Club, a women-only sex club based in London, will appear as a special guest of the Sex Tech Connect teleconferencing event series this Sunday, which was organized by the recently formed networking group for the sextech and adult retail industries, and professionals involved with sexuality research, journalism and the arts.
The group meets Sundays at 10 a.m. (PDT) for "Virtual Brunch, Happy Hour or Late Night Drink." Recent guests have included venture capitalist McKeever "Mac" Conwell II, Dr. Ava Cadell, Ricci Joy Levy of the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, Colin Rowntree, Lora Haddock DiCarlo and Buck Angel.
Seven years ago, LeJeune left behind a career in corporate finance to explore the concept of creating luxury experiences for women, which for generations have been enjoyed largely by men.
"Skirt Club’s mission is to build an exclusive all-female community for empowerment and sexual discovery,” said LeJeune. "The Club is a place where women can have consensual sexual experiences with one another — and in some cases, for the first time, and for many, not the last time."
"For centuries, men have had gentlemen’s clubs," she continued. "It’s high time [women] have our own. I look forward to bringing this to Sex Tech Connect on Sunday."
Sex Tech Connect co-founder and adult industry attorney, Maxine Lynn, looks forward to the opportunity to shed light on another aspect of adult entertainment.
"Not everyone has access to, or feels comfortable with, going to a sex club,” said Lynn. “This is a chance for adult industry professionals to get a glimpse into the sex club industry, and explore its overlap with sextech, and sexual health and wellness. This will be a wonderful opportunity for people to learn more about bisexuality. It'll be educational, intimate — and fun, I'm sure."
During Sunday's meetup, attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly to LeJeune and network with each other.
