OXFORD, United Kingdom — Two Junior Common Rooms (JCRs) at Oxford University, the Hertford and Merton, are raising funds for charities by organizing raffles in which the prizes include £20 vouchers for Lovehoney pleasure products.
At Hertford, according to Oxford’s independent newspaper Cherwell, participants were offered “that warm fuzzy feeling” of “donating money to [COVID-19] frontline workers through the purchase of £1 tickets.”
“In the space of a week,” Cherwell reported, “the JCR raised £320.”
“Who knew Hertford was so horny?” commented a student.
Another college’s JCR, Merton, offered a £20 Lovehoney voucher as one of four prizes, although winners could opt instead for a Cadbury’s chocolate hamper instead.
The Merton JCR draw is scheduled for Friday. Proceeds will go towards Oxfordshire Homelessness, BEAT, Oxfordshire Mind and Reducing the Risk Oxford.
