LOS ANGELES — Pornhub has released a report revealing insights into “Final Fantasy” game-related searches and traffic patterns on its platform.
The new report joins Pornhub’s previous release of video game-related search and demographic data compiled for titles such as “Fortnite,” “Overwatch,” “Red Dead Redemption” and “Apex Legends.”
“‘Final Fantasy 7’ first appeared on the PlayStation console as an RPG in 1997, and remained one of the most popular storylines of the series,” explained a company rep. “Now, 23 years later, Square Enix has released the much-anticipated 'FF7' remake.”
The rep noted that gaming-related searches and characters are one of the most popular genres on Pornhub, with over 1 million searches for “Final Fantasy 7” themes since its release on April 10, peaking April 13 with a 7,631 uptick over the March 2020 average.
The report reveals that the top “Final Fantasy” search term is “Final Fantasy 7,” with “Tifa,” “Aerith,” “Lightning,” “Yuna” and “Lulu” being the top five searched-for characters from the game.
The report also reveals that men are 58 percent more likely than women to search for “Final Fantasy,” and that PlayStation users are 189 percent more likely than Xbox users to search on that title. When compared to all age groups, visitors from 18 to 24 years old are 47 percent more likely to search for “Final Fantasy,” while 25-34-year-old users are 28 percent more interested in the game than average.
