ASACP Names Michael Klein to Executive Board

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has named industry veteran Michael H. Klein to its Executive Board.

Klein is the founder and CEO of Next Step Entertainment, LLC, a consultancy that specializes in maximizing revenue return for products and services within the broadcasting and internet world. He was previously President of LFP Inc./Hustler, President of Broadcasting and Internet for Vivid and Head of Broadcasting and Licensing for Gamma Entertainment.

He has also held executive positions at Showtime, iN Demand, Playboy, On Command Video and Vubiquity.

“I truly admire the work that ASACP is doing to prevent a horrible problem that still exists today,” Klein said. “Hopefully, working with other top professionals in our industry that I respect, I can contribute to bringing more awareness of the issues of child exploitation and all that we can do to try to stop it.”

ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning said the nonprofit association relies on the generous contributions of time, energy and expertise that are made by industry leaders such as Klein.

“Michael has worked for some of the biggest brands in adult entertainment and has a broad experience of the global issues surrounding digital content distribution and the importance of corporate compliance with international regulations and partner policies,” Henning explained. “As the newest member of our Executive Board, Michael is sure to help guide ASACP forward in an ever changing digital media landscape.”

XBIZ President and ASACP Founder Alec Helmy noted Klein’s highly regarded reputation and broad experience as keys to his ability to help propel the association forward.

“Michael’s career is unmatched and I’ve always admired his unique ability to establish vast connections within distinct communities,” Helmy said. “I believe his leadership style is a perfect fit and I look forward to working closely with him to further ASACP’s important mission.”

Board member Brad Mitchell of MojoHost is "thrilled" that Klein has joined the Executive Board.

“Michael’s unparalleled integrity and commitment to our industry combined with decades of experience delivering responsible adult entertainment online make him a perfect fit and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together,” Mitchell said. “Furthering ASACP’s mission of protecting missing and exploited children is near and dear to all of our hearts and professionally rewarding. Lots of good mojo all-around.”

The support ASACP receives from its members and sponsors furthers its 23-year record of success and to provide a range of educational and informational resources for responsible companies, including market-specific Best Practices and a universal Code of Ethics for online businesses, app publishers and operators of age-restricted websites.

Among its most notable achievements, ASACP’s RTA (Restricted To Adults) meta labeling system helps parents prevent their children’s access to countless adult-oriented webpages and mobile apps and is offered to all site and app publishers free of charge — as are all ASACP services, thanks to the generosity of the nonprofit association’s sponsors and members.

Crowning its service, ASACP’s CP Reporting Tipline has processed more than a million alerts to date and has been instrumental in guiding global law enforcement to problem areas online — and receiving a significant number of international accolades in the process.
