BARCELONA — Bijoux Indiscrets has announced the release of its latest intimate cosmetics collection, Slow Sex, featuring massage products, intimate gels, lubricants and an assortment of playful body products.
Co-founder Elsa Viegas officially launched the company's new line in the U.S. at July's ANME show in Burbank, California and in Europe at the recent eroFame trade show in Hannover, Germany. Reps report that after two successful debuts, the collection is now ready to ship within Europe, and will be ready for U.S. orders beginning November 1.
Included in the 10-piece collection are: a glycerin-based Warming Massage Oil and a silicone-based Full Body Massage Gel, both scented with all-natural coconut; a citrus-flavored, saliva-stimulating Mouthwatering Spray and a coconut oil-based Oral Sex Balm; a hydrating, highlighting Intimate Hair and Skin Shimmer Oil and a Full Body Solid perfume; a water-based Anal Play Gel with arnica, chamomile and aloe vera and a water-based Finger Play Gel; a warming, sensitizing Clitoral Balm; and the cooling, coconut-scented Nipple Play Gel.
“Slow Sex is not only a cosmetics line of products,” touted Viegas. “It reflects our brand values." Complete with its own manifesto, Viegas explained that Slow Sex is as much about encouraging couples and singles to delight in foreplay as it is a "political" movement.
Printed on each box, the Pleasure Revolution manifesto reads, "No fiction, no acting, no judgements, no comparisons, no fear, no guilt nor shame. Our pleasure should be ruled by no one but ourselves and starts with self-love, self-respect, self-knowledge and self-acceptance. Pleasure knows no gender and sexual freedom shouldn't either. Slow Sex claims the freedom to feel and enjoy ourselves beyond any fictional sex established behaviors."
“We strongly believe that sex is to be enjoyed," said Viegas. "It's about having pleasure and giving pleasure—it's not only about good sex, it's about creating better sex.”
In line with the company's ethical and eco-friendly standards, each product in the line is vegan and all-natural with no sugar, parabens, gluten or artificial colors. Bijoux Indiscrets has reduced its plastic use to 1-percent in all packaging and instead uses recycled and/or recyclable glass, paper and aluminum. Also, to reduce the company's carbon footprint, the Slow Sex line is manufactured almost entirely locally in Barcelona.
“Even our glitter is mineral-based to avoid microplastics,” enthused Viegas.
The line also seeks to "erase stereotypical binary standards" by taking an inclusive approach that ensures every product works equally well for all gender identities, offered a company representative.
For retailers, the line's erotic yet subdued packaging design features hazy, shimmery artistic nudes and dripping-wet close-ups of plump lips and soft skin; "the perfect amount of tease for mainstream and adult retail shelves alike," said the rep.
