ManyVids Fights Backs Against Social Media Censorship With MV Social

MONTREAL — ManyVids is taking a proactive stand against social media censorship with the expansion of its MV Social initiative.

According to the company, even though adult content is immensely popular on the internet and study after study shows that it’s consumed by the vast majority of the population, we seem to be entering a dark new age of online censorship on just about every social media platform.

For its part, ManyVids is immensely concerned with these attacks on free speech and free expression.

“Several ridiculous examples of harmful overreach have recently occurred on some of the major social platforms out there, such as the deleting and banning of innocuous pics of classical art or personal sunbathing, the censoring of educational vids about LGBTQ+ rights, and the deletion of everything from an ad for a book by the ‘Sex and the City’ writer to a pic of a potato uploaded by a sex education service,” said a company representative. “These examples are disturbing enough so you can imagine what adult sex workers who simply want to express themselves to other consenting adults have to go through on the internet!”

Another powerful example is a social media site recently updating its Terms of Service to explicitly single out “arousing” content.

“‘Arousing’ someone can be considered a rule-breaker, and obviously this singles out every online sex worker, porn performer, MV Star, and every piece of content that they create, and many people are reporting locked accounts, deleted and flagged posts, and new levels of censorship,” the representative explained. “Though fighting for free speech is in the interest of everybody, this isn’t just a matter of self-expression — for MV Stars and adult creatives, promo, and advertising is an essential part of business and without being able to advertise and reach and connect to fans it’s incredibly difficult to generate revenue and create a successful career doing what one loves and is passionate about.”

It is because of the oppressive tactics of the social media companies that ManyVids created MV Social, a social network integrated into the ManyVids platform positioned as the safest place to promote and share adult content ethically on the web without being afraid of having that content blocked, shadowbanned or deleted.

“With the possibility of online sex workers’ accounts being completely deleted or banned from any and all of the social networks, MV Social is a secure backup both for your pics and content and as your home on the web for interacting and connecting with both your fans and peers,” the representative added and noted that MV is building something new and hopes fans and models will join the company in making its constantly updated and improved social platform the premier place for adult self-expression.

“If we come together in a united way, we can overcome the distressing trend toward censorship that’s sweeping both the online and offline worlds and truly make a new kind of social media that empowers and promotes adult creators!” the representative concluded.
