'Let's Talk Adult' Podcast Hosts Special CA Labor Legislation Discussion

LAS VEGAS — Glenn King, creator of MeanBitches.com and host of the podcast "Let’s Talk Adult," recently welcomed labor attorney Karen Tynan as a guest on the show.

In the podcasts latest episode, the two discuss the potential impact of new legislation that would require adult entertainment companies to classify performers as employees instead of contractors in the state of California.

"This is going to have a huge impact on our industry," said King. "I have seen some passionate arguments on Twitter from sides who are for and against this bill, and have also seen a lot of tweets from confused performers who want to know more. We in the industry need more information so we can prepare."

King shared that this particular episode deviates from the show's normal structure and aims to be more of a "public service announcement" than anything else.

"Unlike my usual podcasts, there are no fun stories from set and no adult film stars telling us about the things that excite them — just information," he said. "As a result, we decided to do this podcast commercial-free."

Tynan added, "Although some people wanted us to take a side on this issue, we felt like the best thing we could do for the industry would be to just lay out this information in an objective manner. We kept our discussion to 'here is what AB5 is, here is what the impact would be, and here are the pros and cons.' The listeners can make up their own minds about how to proceed."

Listeners can find the podcast by searching "Let’s Talk Adult" on Itunes, Spreaker, Google Play, Tunein, Spotify, IheartRadio, Youtube, and anywhere else you can find podcasts.
