LOS ANGELES — AVSecure has opened its developer sandbox to help merchants and their developers implement an authorized age verification system ahead of the July 15 enforcement deadline.
Developers will be able to register for and test the AgePass by AVSecure age verification service and decide which one of the integration methods are most suitable for their existing infrastructure and be prepared to implement the full production version to ensure compliance by the go-live date.
In early June, the company plans a pre-launch phase to help educate internet users about the need to age verify and will provide them with the option to do so before the July 15 deadline.
“There will also be a ‘not now’ button allowing easy access to your site, if they prefer to verify later,” AVSecure’s Steve Winyard told XBIZ.net members. “On July 15, the ‘not now’ button will be removed, and the full live service deployed.”
AgePass by AVSecure is a free service that does not collect emails from customers and stores no consumer data. The company has applied for the BBFC Age Verification Certificate scheme (AVC), which will be supported by national press and media campaigns advising consumers to only choose solutions that have attained this high standard for data and privacy protection.
