LOS ANGELES — ManyVids, one of the fastest-growing adult communities with more than 2 million active members and 21,000 independent content creators on its platform, issued a statement on the struggles sex workers face in the modern day.
In particular, the statement discussed recent revelations about adult star Honey Gold.
ManyVids said the following in a statement:
Many of us struggle with mental health, and sex workers and MV Stars are no exception. The stigma from society can compound and worsen the health struggles and challenges that sex workers may face. Recently, MV Star and adult entertainer Honey Gold endured a mental health crisis and is reaching out for help and support.
It takes remarkable courage to both admit one needs help and to actively seek it. On behalf of the entire MV community, ManyVids has made a donation and we want to let Honey know that the MV Community is here for her.
You’re not alone Honey Gold, the MV Community stands with you, supports you, and loves you. It’s an act of bravery to ask for help when you need it, and we admire your courage in coming forward.
Because of the stigma about our industry, many adult performers don’t have a lot of places they can turn to for help. The MV Hotline is there for just that reason. It’s a place that any MV Star can turn to when they’re dealing with issues and need someone to talk to. If you need support or want to talk, please call the MV Hotline at 1-888-350-3051.
The MV Hotline is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (EST). If the hotline isn’t open when you need it, you can email them at mvhotline@manyvids.com. If it’s a major emergency, please call 911 or head to your nearest hospital’s emergency room.
ManyVids has posted a dedicated webpage called “Celebrating Courage” here.
