ManyVids Launches Community Helpline

CYBERSPACE — ManyVids has announced that in the first quarter of 2018 it will launch an in-house hotline dedicated to supporting content creators in the sex industry.

The service will be free, confidential and an easily accessible resource that “MV Stars can rely on when they need emotional or psychological support, want to ask questions about the industry (whether or not to do a certain type of scene, for example) or need to find local resources.”

“It’s for anyone who feels they’re not able to discuss life in the sex industry with anyone else,” a MV spokesperson said. “To make sure every MV Star is as comfortable as possible as they address personal issues, an anonymous option will be available to protect the content creators’ identity.

“ManyVids understands that being a part of the sex industry is a unique experience that not many people outside of the community are able to understand,” the spokesperson added. “This disconnect becomes especially obvious when we are suffering and need to reach out for emotional support. We often find there is no one who understands what we’re going through, who can listen without judgment or who is able to offer advice that is useful to our distinct situation.”

The hotline will be staffed by a trained professional, who will be available eight hours a day during the business week. ManyVids reports it will also make sure to have email and chat services available for those that need support outside of those hours.

The company will actively be working on providing this free service to all MV Stars 24 hours a day, seven days a weeks if "the demand is there for it."

In addition, ManyVids encourages those that need to talk, ask advice or receive emotional support to call the Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP-USA) community support line at (877) 776-2004 (select 1).

“You can also talk to someone from the MV Support Team by emailing us at help@manyvids.com,” the spokesperson concluded. “You are not alone. What you feel, think and deal with in life is valid. You deserve to have someone listen to you. We are here to help and are extremely proud to take on this type of initiative.”

ManyVids is also asking members of the community, “What issues do you think a community support hotline should be able to help with?”
