MXN, a PimpRoll affiliate, plans to keep Porn.com parked with PremiumTraffic.com while the company begins the development process, and a PimpRoll spokesman said he expects Porn.com will formally launch within three to six months.
PimpRoll Marketing Manager Don told XBIZ that developing Porn.com will be a long-term project, and that the company is not 100 percent sure what it wants to offer on the site.
However, because the company specializes in building paysites, Don said, he's thinking he might lean toward building a massive multi-niche paysite.
"There are estimates that Porn.com gets 50,000 unique hits a day through type-in traffic alone," Don said. "The name brand is so strong in itself; it's the ultimate portal."
With regards to development, Don said, the company is going to keep with what has worked in the past.
"We're one of the leading affiliate networks — we know how to convert traffic into members," he said.
Don also said MXN is open to the idea of working with other companies to advertise on Porn.com, because he believes it's an ideal opportunity for advertisers to attract the "wide-eyed and ready" first-timers who respond to the types of ads that seasoned online adult users are immune to, such as banners.
"There's so much traffic already," Don said, adding that the previous owners of Porn.com had left the site parked profiting from pay-per-click traffic, which is what MXN will do until the site is ready to go.
As MXN evaluates the site's traffic and draws out the long list of possibilities for development, Don said the company will announce its plans for the future of Porn.com.
