SugarDVD Withdraws Lauren Conrad Sex Tape Offer

LOS ANGELES — Online adult DVD retailer SugarDVD has withdrawn its offer of $500,000 for the rights to a sex tape featuring reality show star Lauren Conrad and then-boyfriend Jason Wahler in light of the latter’s recent arrest.

“It’s one thing to have a bad boy image, I can relate to that,” SugarDVD CEO Jax Smith told XBIZ. “It’s entirely different for a person to make discriminating remarks about others based on ethnicity or sexual orientation.”

Wahler was arrested April 8 for assault and criminal trespassing in Seattle and hurled numerous racial epithets at the arresting officer. In light of those offensive comments, SugarDVD has withdrawn its offer.

“At the scene of his fourth arrest, Wahler made several comments that did not sit well with our company,” a SugarDVD spokesperson said. "SugarDVD finds these remarks disgusting and emotionally disturbing and we refuse to support any person who feels that it is in any way acceptable to rattle off racial slurs and slanderous language about African-American people, homosexual people and the police department. Sometimes, the public believes that the adult industry will tolerate any sort of behavior but that is far from the truth."

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton first broke the news about the alleged tape on his site. Multiple sources told Hilton that Wahler, who has been arrested four times in the past nine months, is looking to sell the tape before he goes to jail. Wahler is due to serve 60 days in the Los Angeles County Jail after being sentenced March 6 for punching a tow truck driver while intoxicated.

Additionally, a source told TMZ.com that the tape is “very vanilla” with “no hardcore sex” and just depicts the amorous couple “fooling around.”
