LOS ANGELES — Cody Bellinger, rookie first baseman/outfielder for the LA Dodgers, will be the subject of tomorrow’s Vivid Radio Sports Spotlight at 10 p.m. (PDT).
Former Vivid Girl Savanna Samson and “Sports Overnight America” host Gerrie Burke will discuss Bellinger from different points of view in the regular monthly series of on-air conversations about top athletes on the Sports Byline USA Network.
According to a representative, Bellinger is the son of Clay Bellinger, who played for the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 1999-2002. He won a World Series with Los Angeles.
Clay coached Cody on the Chandler, Arizona Little League All Stars team that participated in the 2007 Little League World Series. Cody, then, went from little league to minor league and graduated to major league with the LA Dodgers only in April of 2017.
By May he was named National League Player of the Week and National League Rookie of the Month with nine home runs in that month. On June 20 he became the first rookie in MLB history with 10 home runs in a 10 game span, according to a representative.
