LAS VEGAS — Dr. TaMara Griffin has announced the upcoming release of her new book, “V! A Love Letter to Every Woman And Girl.”
“While I am certainly not the first person to write a book on vulvovaginal health, I am the first to write about how our vulvovaginal health is tied to every dimension (mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, social, biochemical, energetically, institutional, legal, political, physical) of our life,” Dr. Griffin explained, noting “society is afraid of the woman’s body.”
Dr. Griffin points to society’s desire to stigmatize, label and degrade women’s bodies, saying that as a result, women have developed an unhealthy relationship with their bodies.
“This unhealthy relationship has caused women to unnecessarily place themselves at risk for reproductive health conditions, sexually transmitted infections, unintended pregnancies, and other unintended consequences of the failure to love their bodies,” Dr. Griffin adds. “The really unfortunate part about all this is that women did not have a truly authentic, unapologetic resource to address this dissociation until now.”
Dr. Griffin said V! was written “to break the cycle of negative, unhealthy intergenerational patterns that have been passed down from great-grandma, to grandma, to mom and to daughters.”
“I must warn you that this book does not include any cutesy terms, slang phrases or steamy soliloquies of sex metaphors because talking about vulvovaginal health is not to be taken lightly,” Dr. Griffin says, adding, “I am going to teach you everything that your mother never told you about vulvovaginal health.”
V! will be available for purchase beginning on July 1, from local retailers, Amazon.com, BN.com and on DrTaMaraGriffin.com, where autographed copies may be pre-ordered.
