CINCINNATI — XHamster.com has offered to pay for the relocation of gorillas from the Cincinnati Zoo to a wildlife refuge.
This comes after the death of Harambe, the 450-pound gorilla who was shot and killed by personnel at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday after a boy slipped and fell into the gorilla's enclosure. The boy was not seriously injured.
"We are shocked and saddened to see what took place at the Cincinnati Zoo and in the senseless killing of Harambe the Gorilla," said Alex Hawkins, spokesperson for XHamster.com. "We at XHamster.com care deeply about human and animal rights. We are against beautiful creatures like Harambe being held in captivity, and the senseless killing of this beautiful creature is unacceptable. The only way to avoid this in the future is to transfer the rest of these magnificent animals to a wildlife refuge so they can live the rest of their lives in peace."
An XHamster representative said the adult site is "ready to pick up the tab to find a wildlife sanctuary that will accept the rest of the Cincinnati Zoo's gorilla population and transporting them there."
