LOS ANGELES — Adam & Eve Pictures has wrapped the first six episodes of a new XXX soap opera titled "The Young & the Rest of Us" with Will Ryder writing and directing.
The original production is a drama starring a cast of 18 that takes a provocative look at family life in small-town America.
The hardcore soap opera is set to go online at adamevetv.com first with individual episodes followed by full delivery on DVD. The series will be released as two separate DVDs available via wholesale and on adamandeve.com and adamevevod.com this Fall. New episodes will follow as they are produced.
"Soap operas have been popular on radio for 80 years and television for nearly 60 years so an episodic series that tackles real-life issues with dramatic flair and plenty of sex made a lot of sense to both Adam & Eve and X-Play so we are honored to have been chosen to produce and direct this huge project," Ryder remarked.
Set in the fictitious university town of College Grove, the story will focus first on parents and the problems facing college-age youth, including corruption, scandal, lies, drugs, politics, cheating and sexual experimentation threatening the very fabric of American family life. College Grove might look like a sleepy college town but it’s alive and wide awake.
"Hard-hitting issues will bring the series to epic highs with cliff hangers and sex being integral to the storyline," according to Ryder.
The first six episodes will feature a large ensemble cast starring Sarah Vandella, Chloe Amour, Holly Heart, Bentley, Anya Ivy, Katerina Kay, Nikki Daniels, Josie Jagger, Gemma Jolie, Christie Stevens and Vyxen Steel.
When it came time for the men, everyone agreed that Steven St. Croix needed to be a central character, Ryder said. He is joined by Nick Manning, Alec Knight, Tyler Nixon, Seth Gamble, Chad White and Ryan Mclane. Additional actors and actresses will join the cast as new episodes are created.
"I had never worked with St. Croix before and I promise I want that guy a part of everything I shoot moving forward. He's a fabulous actor," Ryder admitted.
If successful, Adam & Eve Pictures is ready to produce a block of 20 more episodes allowing the story to go in multiple directions just like today's television soap series.
"I used to be a big fan of 'General Hospital' back in the day and an old buddy of mine has been on the 'Young & the Restless' for 20 years and I used to visit that set all the time. I can tell you that our Adam & Eve soap opera has a lot more naked girls having sex then they do over at CBS," Ryder joked.
Co-produced by Scott David, the project is part of an effort by Adam & Eve to bring quicker content bites for customers looking for new forms of adult entertainment. The XXX soap opera now heads to editing before making a late summer debut.
