MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Google today announced a new release, “upgraded URLs,” for those websites that can advertise their web services via AdWords.
Last year, of course, the search engine and ad company made a decision to prohibit adult advertising on its paid advertising platform.
But some online sectors, such as adult dating and adult cam sites, are able to continue campaigns through AdWords.
“Upgraded URLs” allows managing and tracking information easier for advertisers, Google says.
The new URL feature allows advertisers to update tracking info while avoiding having to reset ad stats. Specifically, Google says the new "upgraded URLs" offer advertisers these benefits — less time spent managing URL tracking updates, reduced crawl and load times on websites and new ValueTrack parameters that help users gain additional insights about ads.
Google says it will begin rolling out its “upgraded URLs” feature to advertisers this week while it is encouraging advertisers that use tracking to upgrade to the new system by July 1.
