LAS VEGAS — Probation was revoked Tuesday on a prior felony conviction against War Machine, the former mixed-martial-arts fighter and porn performer charged with brutally beating adult star Christy Mack and her friend Corey Thomas in August.
Clark County District Court Judge Valerie Adair on Tuesday invoked a 1½-to-4 year sentence she suspended in February 2012 when granting War Machine, aka Jonathan Koppenhaver, probation following his guilty plea to felony attempted battery causing substantial bodily harm, according to the Associated Press.
Koppenhaver already is awaiting a Feb. 17 trial that could lead to life in prison without parole for alleged attempted murder and other felonies at Mack's Las Vegas home on Aug. 8. The 33-year-old pleaded not guilty in November to 34 felony charges that also included kidnapping and sexual assault.
Koppenhaver's lawyer, Brandon Sua, said that Koppenhaver doesn't dispute leaving Nevada without permission in August, AP reported. He was sought at the time by police after his ex-girlfriend Mack reported she had been attacked, and he was arrested Aug. 15 at a hotel in Simi Valley, Calif.
Sua said the new prison sentence had no immediate practical effect because his client already is being held without bail in isolation at the Clark County jail.
Mack is the 2014 XBIZ Best New Starlet.
