ASACP Reveals Featured Sponsors for August

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its Featured Sponsors for August, 2014.

Each month, the association names select sponsors in recognition of their outstanding efforts and ongoing support in helping to protect children online.

According to ASACP Executive Director, Tim Henning, the association’s Featured Sponsors program honors providers of digital media and related services that have demonstrated their support, while identifying those industry leaders that set a responsible example for their peers.

“By helping to protect children from being exposed to inappropriate material on the Internet or via mobile apps, ASACP’s Featured Sponsors show that profits and protection can work hand-in-hand,” Henning explains. “This illustrates the value of proactive self-regulation as an alternative to mandatory measures that can be over-reaching, such as in the U.K., where the ISP-level filtering is reportedly over-blocking 20 percent of websites.”

“ASACP would not be able to carry out its mission without the ongoing, generous support of its sponsors,” Henning added. “From technical measures such as RTA labeling to adherence to our Best Practices and Code of Ethics, ASACP’s valued sponsors are making a difference in the lives of today’s digitally-connected youth.”

For August, ASACP recognizes four of its sponsors: Southern Charms, Imlive, Girlfriends Films and GT Bill, for their generous long-term support.

Southern Charms
Online since 1996 and an ASACP Title Sponsor since 2003, Southern Charms is one of the world’s largest amateur websites, providing girls over the age of 18 an opportunity to have their own website.
