BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Eldorado raised 7,223 pounds of food for Boulder and Broomfield Counties’ Food Share program for the holiday season resulting in more than 7,200 meals for hungry Coloradans.
In Colorado today, it is estimated that one in six people live at or below poverty, including 13,046 children.
“I’m extremely proud of the Eldorado team. This year our team got creative and organized a bake sale, chili cook-off, and cookie battle all to raise money for Community Food Share,” Eldorado founder and CEO Larry Garland said. “A little goes a long way. It’s gratifying just to know Eldorado helped put food on the table for local Colorado families.”
Community Food Share, the food bank for Boulder and Broomfield Counties, has been providing service to the community since 1981. In 2012 Community Food Share distributed more than 7.1 million meals. For more information about Community Food Share, visit CommunityFoodShare.org.
