LOS ANGELES — Lisa Ann told XBIZ she knows how to get the most out of the talent in a scene from her years of performing for others.
“I know what makes people comfortable on set,” she said. “I know what makes the day easy.”
The award-winning adult film star will be calling upon all her industry experience as she embarks on a new challenge in her career, directing movies for her own namesake production company that will be exclusively distributed by Jules Jordan Video.
Lisa Ann’s first movie “MILF Revolution,” which marks the directorial debut of the popular performer, will be released on Monday.
“Having all that knowledge, I couldn’t be in a better place than to be with Jules Jordan,” Lisa Ann said. “It’s a nice combination of things falling into place when it wasn’t forced. I was really ready to pick up some new projects. This also helps me with my website (thelisaann.com) because I’ll be able to use this content on my website as well.”
Lisa Ann said she and Jordan had been talking about the deal for several months.
“I have such an unbelievable amount of respect for how hard Jules works. He’s a self-made, incredible businessman,” she said. “And I know from my going on the road and featuring that my Jules Jordan movies always sell first.”
Jordan, whose distribution division already releases movies for a high-profile stable of directors, called Lisa Ann “the hardest working and most professional performer in the business.”
“It’s a pleasure to have her aboard to direct and star in her very own films,” Jordan said. “I've been a big fan of Lisa for a long time. She's been an audience favorite for a long time. She's holding nothing back in her movies.”
Jordan added, “Lisa's films show her commitment to excellence, attention to detail and she will soon be a critically acclaimed director and producer.”
Lisa Ann Productions will release one movie per month through Jules Jordan Video.
“MILF Revolution” stars Lisa Ann in every scene, along with Jayden Jaymes, Capri Cavanni, Katja Kassin and Raquel Devine. Lisa Ann said she chose the name “MILF Revolution” because “Google has attached that name to my brand,” noting that the “revolution” tag started with her enormous Twitter following a couple years ago.
“The term MILF is getting sexier and sexier,” Lisa Ann said. “It can still be the hot housewife, but now she also can be wearing fishnets and latex too. She’s not just stuck in the category of the mom next door.”
Lisa Ann said that she shot Cavanni’s first boy/boy/girl scene for the movie and that she used to represent Kassin and Devine when she owned a talent agency.
The XBIZ Award-winning star emphasized that her transition to directing by no means indicates she is finished performing herself. She plans to perform in most of her movies in some capacity. But she added that she is being more selective than ever about working for other studios due to in part to her busy feature dancing schedule and now running her own production company.
“The biggest thing I’m seeing as I get older is that my long-term fans ask me, ‘When are you going to stop? What are you going to do next?’ It’s because they are wondering how they are going to stay in touch with me. They’re afraid I’m just going to disappear. I’m not going to disappear. I’m going to stay relevant and I’m going to give back to this industry,” Lisa Ann said.
Her approach to directing includes a sit-down talk with her talent before the camera starts rolling.
“I’ll ask them, ‘What are your favorite things to do? What don’t you like?’ Some girls unfortunately will do things on camera that they don’t want to do,” Lisa Ann explained. “Some girls have different body make-ups and certain positions are more comfortable than others. ... I’ll tell them, ‘Let’s eliminate what you don’t like. Let’s make you shine.’”
Lisa Ann said her second movie, “Lisa Ann's Blackout,” will be all-interracial and will hit the streets in early September. In “Blackout,” she performs in a five-man gangbang in one scene and then joins Chanel Preston to take on Mandingo in another scene. Then she and Prince Yahshua double-penetrate Syren DeMer in a different encounter.
She also has a schoolgirl-themed title in the works with the likes of Riley Reid and Kristina Rose in which Ann plans the dean of the school. Another title on her production schedule is called “MILFS Illustrated,” inspired by her time under contract with Metro in the ’90s, when “Babes Illustrated” became a notable series. Lisa Ann said that bona fide stars such as Houston and Devon are among the performers lined up for that title.
Lisa Ann, who is feature dancing this weekend at the Hustler Club in Shreveport, La., is also now in the editing process of her first book. She would not reveal the title at post time, but she said that the book documents her experiences both inside and outside of the industry and likely will be released in early 2014.
