Cherry Media Announces Content Rental Plan

BARCELONA, Spain — Cherry Media S.L. (Cherrysauce) today announced a new payment plan to help mobile content licensees better manage their costs.

Distributors and service providers can now rent some of Cherry’s best performing Content Collections for one low monthly fee for the license term.

The company said its Content Collections are exclusive to Cherry Media and contain specially formatted mobile images and videos, marketing copy and channel artwork to advertising banners, and even metadata in many cases. All of the content is graded to global mobile content standards providing ready-to-publish mobile channels.

As a business grows, partners can continue to add any amount of new content to refresh or expand their services in line with their monthly earnings, so that they are always in control of their profit margins — a feature that Cherry said revenue sharing can’t offer.

“The idea behind Cherry’s Content Rental is to enable service providers, app developers and distributors to launch and optimize products and services with premium performance content, without having to make big financial outlays in advance,” Cherry Media founder and CEO Julia Dimambro said.

She added, "Instead, they can spread all costs over the license term, so that the content is essentially self-funding almost immediately. In these challenging commercial times, we want to be as flexible as possible in order to facilitate good business relationships.”

To promote the launch of the payment model, Cherry Media is launching a special offer where they will be giving away free content in addition to the collection, so that partners have the resources to create an effective marketing campaign with sales incentives to give their new services and/or channels a boost.
