WoodRocket.com Greenlights 'Game of Thrones' Parody

LOS ANGELES — WoodRocket.com will begin casting for its upcoming parody of the HBO series "Game of Thrones" on Tuesday at an undisclosed location in L.A., writer-director Lee Roy Myers told XBIZ.

The veteran parody director said the response to his casting call announcement on Twitter and Facebook last week has been "overwhelmingly positive." So much so that Myers is planning to hold a second round of auditions on a date to be announced soon.

"Our auditions tomorrow are completely booked, there are no more spaces," Myers said, noting that his available spots actually were filled within one hour of posting his announcement on social media.

"It was pretty amazing. People seem to really want to be part of a 'Game of Thrones' porn parody. We’re really excited about the project for WoodRocket.com, we’re ready to go."

Myers said the working title of the spoof is "Game of Bones," and it will be released in a series of webisodes.

"We may release it on DVD later, but first we will be releasing it on WoodRocket.com for free in parts," he noted. "We figured we had three choices for titles: 'Game of Bones,' 'Game of Moans' or 'Game of Thongs.'"

While WoodRocket.com has shot several other web series, "this will be our biggest to date," according to Myers.

"It’s 'Game of Thrones.' If we’re going to do it, we’re going to go all out for it," he continued.

"I think the series will make for a great porn parody. One, because it already sexualizes most of the characters. So people are already fantasizing about real sex with these characters. And two, because it’s also a melodrama, so it leaves us a lot of space to parody.

"And it’s got dragons. What goes better with dragons than full penetration? It's going to be big. It's going to be sexy and it's going to be made for fans of porn and fans of 'Game of Thrones,' specifically. It's going to be a huge WoodRocket project."

Myers, the 2011 XBIZ Director of the Year, has shot more than two dozen parodies in his directing career, including spoofs of "The Godfather," "The Big Lebowski," "Family Guy," "Seinfeld," "Friends," and "The Simpsons."

He said to stay tuned to WoodRocket.com for an announcement about the second casting call.
