The deal marks a reunion for the two companies, which will work together to promote “Rangers” this fall, as well as Studio 2000’s other titles through VOD.
“Studio 2000 was one of the first major video producers on our site and we’re thrilled to have them back,” NakedSword President Tim Valenti said. “They know that the full value of NakedSword lays beyond our vast consumer base. Our knowledge of gay adult content helps us articulate a studio’s vision and promote them across multiple mediums.”
According to Valenti, NakedSword is well positioned to help Studio 2000 disseminate its content to the larger gay community. In addition to arranging the gay portion of the Temptation Awards — to be held July 29 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. — NakedSword also will use its “Tim and Roma Show” as a platform to plug “Rangers.”
“Tim and Roma Show” producer Michael Stabile was on the “Rangers” set in June to shoot behind-the-scenes footage of the film. The footage will be used on the NakedSword site when “Rangers” debuts in a special same-day-as-DVD limited release.
While NakedSword has previously worked with other studios on similar promotional ventures, its partnership with Studio 2000 marks the first collaboration for marketing a title from shoot to release.
“Studio 2000 is very excited to partner with NakedSword again,” Studio 2000 CEO David McKay said. “NakedSword is unrivalled in its ability to promote brands and studios, and their creative, long-term approach to the VOD market attests to their extensive experience streaming video.”
