COLOGNE, Germany -- Manwin Managing Partner Fabian Thylmann is going home for Christmas.
German authorities released Thylmann, who was accused of tax evasion earlier this month and extradited from Belgium.
Thylmann still must report back to authorities at a later date to face tax charges.
Thylmann deposited a bond in the tens of millions for his pre-trial release, according to a report today in Die Welt.
Prosecutors said his passport has been held and that he will be under "stringent reporting requirements" while on bond.
"Prosecutors and the court assume that the sole purpose of detention, namely the implementation of an ordered criminal proceedings against the accused, can also be achieved by the measures adopted," a German prosecutor told the Die Welt.
Thylmann was arrested two weeks ago on a German warrant in Belgium at the Brussels airport, and several properties including his home were searched.
