Beginning their journey in Santa Monica, Calif. on Thursday morning, the riders include Joel Hall, CEO of Paycom; Richard “Rex” Excoffier, CEO of Totemcash/Virtual Girl; Chad Moldon, president of Python; Greg Dumas, GEC Media; and Tanguy Decourson of 0x7a69.
According to Dumas, one of the organizers of the trip, the scenic excursion across state lines should take around eight hours. The group plans to ride directly to a truck stop about 80 miles east of Los Angeles for breakfast before embarking on the second leg of the journey.
“Our next stops will include Indio and a quick stop at the Gen. Patton museum somewhere in desert,” Dumas said.
After a quick lunch in the border town of Blythe, Calif., the Harley contingency will ride directly into Phoenix.
“As we get closer to our destination, the thought of a hot shower, cold beer and seeing some good friends will make it all worth it,” Dumas said. “I cannot think of a better way to enjoy the Phoenix Forum.”
The Harley ride marks the 2nd Annual Phoenix Ride, originally organized with the intention of assembling a group of adult industry friends without the distractions of laptops, instant messaging or mobile phones.
“We can talk about life, politics, business or whatever,” Dumas said. “We’re all so busy running our respective businesses that these times provide a great bonding opportunity and a great start to the Phoenix Forum.”
The 7th Annual Phoenix Forum is scheduled to take place from March 30-April 1 at the Tempe Mission Palms. The event is considered one of the leading mid-size webmaster gatherings, with attendance expected around 1,200.
