Pink Visual Announces Developer Contest With New API

VAN NUYS, Calif. — To encourage developers to create and submit applications in through the company’s recently launched API, Pink Visual announced today the launch of a developers challenge.

The contest winner will get a trip to Las Vegas in January to attend Pink Visual’s PronParty or a $2,500 cash prize in lieu of the trip.

“The response to the launch of PV API has been great, and has included signups from quite a number of developers who have never worked with adult content before,” said Allison Vivas, president of Pink Visual. “With the announcement of the contest, we hope to draw in even more developers and we look forward to receiving and reviewing a lot of high-quality apps.”

Using PV API, the company said developers can create essentially any manner of adult-themed site or application that they can imagine, including full-fledged websites, games, index-style link sites and mobile apps. Upon signing up with PV API, developers receive a limited API Key, which becomes fully enabled once Pink Visual has reviewed and approved the submission.

“We really want to encourage developers to get as creative as possible with their apps,” Vivas said. “While commercial applicability is important, in terms of how we judge the apps submitted to us, the most important aspects are going to be how well the application functions and how creative it is in how it uses our data and content.”

The prize will be awarded to the developer who submits what the “best overall” application in the opinion of Pink Visual’s panel of judges. Only residents of the U.S. are eligible for the contest.
