PALM BEACH, Fla. — ICM Registry has published a white paper that discusses its procedures to address conflicting trademark claims.
The seven-page report, disseminated today, made clear that "the planned operations of the registry are lawful, non-discriminatory and in accord with ICANN policies."
The paper goes on to say that the ICM Registry can't be held liable for the registration of a domain name incorporating another party’s trademark.
ICM Registry notes it adopted more extensive protections for existing domain name holders and trademark owners than ever implemented by any previous registry.
ICM Registry spokesman Greg Dumas told XBIZ that while the company doesn't discuss specific cases, "the legal position is outlined in the attached white paper."
