Qwebec Expo 2006 will take place August 25-27 — a week earlier than previous years to avoid the Labor Day weekend — at Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain. Plant said special hotel rates would be available for show attendees.
Billed as a comprehensive meet-and-greet event for seasoned webmasters and newbies alike, the Expo’s attendance has been growing steadily since its launch in Quebec City. According to Plant, the 2004 event drew about 250 people, while 2005 drew nearly 350.
“We are a small show and we want to sat that way,” Plant told XBiz. “You need small shows to meet the guys you want to meet. In Las Vegas, for example, if you want to talk to somebody big, forget it. Here you can have undivided attention for 5-10 minutes from major players in the industry.”
The show’s “cozy” atmosphere is ideal for newbies, Plant said, because it gives them a chance to ask questions without feeling overwhelmed.
“Our seminars are relaxed,” he said. “The seminars really focus on progression. From how to use TGP galleries all the way to how to shoot your own content.”
Registration, which closes Aug. 13, is currently $75 per person, with early registration discounts ending July 2. Registration for the event can be done via the Expo’s official website. Booth spaces also are available, currently priced at $750 for 10x10 spaces, but will rise to $1,500 after July 14.
Companies interested in sponsorship opportunities can join the growing list of sponsors already signed on, including NATS, Naughty Bank, Gamma Cash, 2Much Internet Services, TopBucks, Brain Cash and AdultChamber.
XBiz also is a sponsor of the event.
Plant also said all attendees would be given free admission to the Best Adult Awards Ceremony, scheduled for Aug. 26 at the Marriott.
